Stand As A Witness (Week 3)
President Russell M. Nelson made it clear that those who stand as a disciple of Christ in these last days, which have been described as “perilous times,” will be put to the test and that the struggle will not be easy.
I love the Young Women’s theme WE ARE DAUGHTERS of our Heavenly Father, who loves us, and we love Him. WE WILL “STAND as witnesses of God at all times and in all things, and in all places” (Mosiah 18:9) as we strive to live the Young Women values, which are:
Faith • Divine Nature • Individual Worth • Knowledge • Choice and Accountability • Good Works • Integrity • and Virtue
WE BELIEVE as we come to accept and act upon these values, WE WILL BE PREPARED to strengthen home and family, make and keep sacred covenants, receive the ordinances of the temple, and enjoy the blessings of exaltation.
Sometimes it is hard to stand as a witness, but as President Nelson said there will come a day that we will have to stand up for what we know is right. What are we doing to prepare ourselves for the opportunity of standing as a witness? Of course, we can read our scriptures and say our prayers but I look at the youth of the church and President Nelson has invited every single youth in the Church to “enlist in the youth battalion of the Lord” and take part in “the greatest challenge, the greatest cause, and the greatest work on earth.” He continues to invited the youth to stay on the covenant path. (President Nelson Address to the Youth)
It is time for us to set goals to stay on that covenant path. We need to increase our temple attendance. We need to strengthen our testimonies. We need to gather around us like minded people to keep us strong. We need to encourage our youth to do the same and invite them to do the same for us. They are strong and we can follow their example as much as they can follow ours.
Ask yourself – WHAT AM I DOING TO STAND AS A WITNESS?
